Relevancy Measurement

As a leader, as a parent, a friend...our ego allows us to think what we are delivering to someone is exactly what they need. Everyone gives and receives through the lease of their perception. What one person seeks, another has no use for. What drives one person to greatness, is meaningless to someone else. What one person needs from us as a leader, another is put out by it.

To combat irrelevancy, get to know those you lead. Understand what motivates them, what they enjoy, and who they are outside of work. Being relevant means being needed by those around you, and the only person who can decide that is THE OTHER PERSON! Feeling like you are needed is irrelevant, BEING needed is relevant.
